Greetings from the office of MPSOS.
Nominations for the election of MPSOS office bearers are invited for the tenure 2024-26. Attached are the details of various posts, eligibility criteria, and other details.
A. Vice President for 2 years (Election)
The Vice President shall be elected at the Annual General Body Meeting for a term of two years. The eligibility of a candidate for the post of Vice President shall be as follows:
- The candidate must have good standing of at least the last 10 years continuously in the Society as a Regular Life Member.
- Must have held an office in the Divisional Society/State Society or AIOS.
- Must have attended at least one of the last three Annual M.P.S.O.S Annual Conferences.
- Eligible for the post for not more than two terms only.
B. General Secretary for 2 years (Election)
- The candidate must have good standing of at least the last 10 years continuously in the Society as a Regular Life Member.
- Must have held an office in the Divisional Society/ State Society or AIOS.
- Must have attended at least one of the last three Annual M.P.S.O.S Annual Conferences.
- Eligible for the post for not more than two terms only.
- He and the Treasurer should be from the same division.
C. Treasurer for 2 years (Election)
- The candidate must have good standing of at least the last 10 years continuously in the Society as a Regular Life Member.
- Must have held an office in the Divisional Society / State Society or AIOS.
- Must have attended at least one of the last three Annual M.P.S.O.S Annual Conferences.
- Eligible for the post for not more than two terms only.
- He and the Secretary should be from the same division.
D. Joint Secretary for 2 years (Election)
- The candidate must have good standing of at least the last 7 years continuously in the Society as a Regular Life Member.
- Must have held an office in the Divisional Society / State Society or AIOS.
- Must have attended at least one of the last three Annual M.P.S.O.S Annual Conferences.
- Eligible for the post for not more than two terms only.
E. Chairperson Scientific Committee for 2 years (Election)
- The candidate must have good standing of at least the last 10 years continuously in the Society as a Regular Life Member.
- Must have held an office in the Divisional Society / State Society or AIOS.
- Must have attended at least two of the last three Annual M.P.S.O.S Annual Conferences.
- Must have presented at least 5 scientific papers/given talks in the State or the National Ophthalmic Society in the last 7 years or published a paper in an ophthalmic journal of repute. Proof shall be included along with the nomination.
- Eligible for the post for not more than two terms only.
Voting System
- As decided in the last GBM held at Sagar, online voting system shall be followed from this year.
- Detail schedule for online voting shall be communicated later.
- All nominations (download the form attached herewith) duly proposed and seconded by Regular Life Members along with proof of fulfilling eligibility criteria can be submitted by email, registered post, or by hand at the following address.
